Pujdeme not see guarantees of fair trial.
The lawyer of the former head of Catalonia Carles Pokdemon said that his client did not intend to come to Spain’s national court, where he was summoned for questioning.
In an interview with Dutch television, the lawyer said that his client sees no guarantees for a fair trial, reports El Pais. He also added that at the moment Pujdeme prefers to “wait and see”.
Spain’s national court summoned the ousted leader of Catalonia Carles Pokdemon and 13 suspended the Catalan politicians.
Now Carles Pujdeme together with his colleagues located in Brussels. There he went before the Spanish Prosecutor’s office charged him and members of the disbanded regional administrations and Parliament of Catalonia charges of rebellion, sedition, insurrection against state power and misuse of budget funds.
His departure, he argued that he intends to complain to the politicized actions of the Spanish judiciary. He also added that he is ready to defend its interests in court, if necessary.
1 October in Catalonia went unrecognized by Spain and the EU referendum on independence for the region. The Catalan government stated that the Department voted 90,18% against 7.83 per cent with a turnout of 43,03%.
On 27 October, the Parliament of Catalonia declared independence from Spain, despite protests from the part of official Madrid.

Following the decision of the Catalan Parliament, the Upper house of the Spanish Parliament supported the abolition of the powers of the Autonomous government of Catalonia, and the Cabinet of Ministers of Spain has decided to dissolve Parliament and the government of Catalonia.
