As it became known, the mine went industrial climbers, who checked all of the vent wells at the mine, but was not able to establish communication with the missing miners.
Climbers managed to go down to the bottom of the quarry with a depth of 525 meters.
“The descent took almost eight hours. Climbers have examined the entire planned search area, gave sound signals, but unanswered,” — said the press service.
The side of the pit is unstable and the visibility is almost zero because of the dust.
Meanwhile, commander of the rapid response of the rescuers said that “all production that is available for the passage of rescuers surveyed” and added that people working in very difficult conditions.
“In a flooded part of the workings are the mechanisms, boulders, pipes — all brought water. (…) Breathing apparatus is designed to operate in water, this is brine and mud weight,” he explained.
It also became known that at the moment the divers surveyed about three miles of flooded workings.
As we reported, earlier it was reported about flooding of the mine of “ALROSA”, which at the time worked 151 miner.
In the first hours after the incident were evacuated 142 miners, and later – another. The fate of eight workers remains unknown.
