This will be the first NATO summit, in which will participate the new US President Donald trump.
Meeting of the leaders of the countries-participants of NATO will take place on 25 may in Brussels (Belgium).
“I would be glad to welcome their colleagues at the next NATO summit in Brussels on 25 may”, — he wrote on his Twitter page, the head of the Belgian government of Charles Michel.
Also the Belgian Prime Minister said that this day will be the opening of the new headquarters of the Alliance.
Earlier, the new leader of the United States Donald trump said that the structure and activities of the Alliance there is a number of problems, and the organization itself has long been obsolete.
However, later, during a conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, trump changed his point of view and assured the Secretary General that he intends to “work closely” with partners to eliminate all of the challenges “faced by NATO”.
