The Prosecutor’s office will appeal the decision of Selidovsky city court, which acquitted the so-called head of the Supreme court “DNR”.
The Donetsk region Prosecutor’s office strongly disagrees with the decision Selidovsky city court, which acquitted a citizen of the Russian Federation Eduard Yakubovsky, which the militants called the “head of the Supreme court of the NPT.” About it reports a press-service of Donetsk Prosecutor’s office.
Investigators of investigative management of Prosecutor’s office of Donetsk region collected enough proofs of fault of Yakubovsky in the Commission of a criminal offense under part 1 of article 258-3 of the criminal code (Creation or participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization).
“It is established that the citizen Jakubowski, 1959, a native of Moscow, in September 2014, after the capture of the Donetsk militants DNR and knowing the wrongful nature of his actions, he took the position of the so-called President of the Supreme court of DNR”, – noted in press service.
The press service said that due to the fact that Jakubowski is located in the temporarily occupied territory it was carried out against a special pre-trial investigation.
“Currently, the Donetsk region Prosecutor’s office prepares the appeal in the higher court with the requirement to convict the defendant for sentence. The sanction of specified article provides imprisonment for the term up to 15 years”, – said the press service.
In the text of the sentence Selidovsky city court dated 12 June 2017 it is noted that the Commission of a criminal offense under part 1 article 258-3 of the criminal code to recognize (Jakubowski – ed) innocent and justified in connection with absence of proof, the prosecution of a criminal offence with which he is charged.
“The verdict can be appealed in Appellate court of Donetsk region within thirty days”, – stated in the text of the sentence.
