Residents have noted that tremors were felt in the area from Vevey to Fribourg.
The earthquake of a magnitude of 4.3 occurred on Saturday in the Swiss Canton of Vaud. It is reported by the Swiss seismological service.
The earthquake occurred at 10.10 am at the foot of mountains in the Swiss Canton of Vaud, near the village of Chateau d’oex, in a half-hour drive from Geneva. Residents have noted that tremors were felt in the area from Vevey to Fribourg. The police of Canton received about 30 messages from citizens, but significant damage the earthquake had brought.
It is noted that earthquakes in Switzerland is not uncommon, but this was the most severe in the last 10 years.
