The fifth racket of the world Elina Svitolina has been awarded the order “For merits” III degree.
On the occasion of the Constitution Day (June 28) President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko “for significant personal contribution to nation-building, socio-economic, scientific-technical, cultural-educational development of Ukraine, significant labor achievements and high professionalism” awarded

The reason for the presentation of state awards was a breakthrough Svitolina in 2017 – this season, the 22-year-old tennis player won four tournaments (Taipei, Dubai, Istanbul and Rome), debuted in the top 10 of the WTA rankings and has become entrenched in the top three in the title race.
After Roland Garros-2017 Svitolina for the first time broke into the top-5 world ranking. At the upcoming Wimbledon Kharkov will get the fourth seed, which will be a record in the history of women’s tennis in Ukraine.
All in all, on account of Elina Svitolina already eight victories on tournaments of series WTA. The Ukrainian has twice reached the quarter-finals at the competition of Grand slam, and last year played in the 1/4 finals at the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
