The Russian foreign Ministry blamed Israel in a historic betrayal.
The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova criticized Israel, Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia for the fact that they are first invited to Russia, but after it withdrew the invitation to the Commission to update the Museum “Sobibor”, which was established on the site of the former Nazi death camp in Poland, calling it “a terrible thing”.
Zakharova recalled the fact that the Red army “gave millions of lives for the prisoners of concentration camps were released to free these countries of Europe.”
Against the background of European participants of the project separately, it attacked Israel.
“I can take into account the mood, the political battle that is taken place around the historical memory and so on, but I categorically refuse to understand the position of Israel. For me — I now speak in a personal capacity — for me as the position of this government on this issue is absolutely unacceptable and, I believe, is bordered by the historic betrayal”, — said Maria Zakharova.
And finally, the representative of the Russian foreign Ministry accused Israel, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia betraying “the memory of those who saved their fathers, grandfathers, mothers.”
