The leader of the Union of carriers of Russia Andrey Bautin noted that the protesters “unprecedented pressure” from security forces.
According to him, because of Plato from 600 thousand to 700 thousand Russian truckers could lose their jobs.
4 Dec truckers from different cities of Russia have tried to block the ring road, demanding the abolition of paid travel on Federal highways.
Note that at the end of March, the Russian government adopted a decision on increase of a tariff in the system of Plato, from April 15 this year. But not twice as planned – to 3.06 rubles per kilometer, and 25% from the current 1.53 rubles. Thus, the fee would amount to 1.91 rubles per kilometer.
