In the suburbs of Paris protests, police used tear gas
About 2,000 protesters in the commune of Bobigny were carrying posters with inscriptions “police rapists” and “police kill innocent people”.
The demonstrators burned several vehicles and threw smoke bombs at police. Police used rubber bullets and tear gas.
“Several hundred aggressive and very mobile people have committed various acts of violence and prejudice,” said the Prefecture of the Paris police.
The demonstrators demanded from the authorities of the punishment for the four police officers who on 2 February arrested a 22-year-old black man for verification of documents in the Paris suburb of Aunay-sous-BA.
A young man who is now in hospital, claims that law enforcement officers violently raped him with the use of police batons.
The demonstration ended in the evening, after the police used tear gas.
After the incident, several in the suburbs of Paris there were riots. One of the police officers charged with rape, three others in assaulting a man.
