The new law should increase the level of military discipline.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on strengthening responsibility of military personnel and some other persons”.
“The purpose of the law is to increase the level of military discipline for military personnel and conscripts and reservists during the passage of fees, improvement of the procedure of bringing these individuals to justice for committing war administrative offences”, – stated in the message on the website of the President.
The law provides strengthening of responsibility of military servicemen, conscripts and reservists during the passage of charges for violation of driving rules or operation of vehicles, committed in a condition of alcoholic intoxication.
Also will be strengthened punishment for committing a military administrative offenses, in case of default (inadequate execution) of official duties, a violation of military discipline or public order.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted this law on March 16.
