North Korea ceased to issue tourist visas for foreigners ahead of the 70th anniversary of the proclamation of the Democratic people’s Republic next month. This is with reference to the Chinese tour operator reports AFP.
Provided that this arises from the reports that Pyongyang has suspended visits by groups of Chinese tourists.
Popular Agency among Western tourists wishing to visit the DPRK, on its web site said that “its 13 Aug briefed partners in Pyongyang that they were instructed from above, that all applications for tourist visa, which is currently underway, should be frozen.”
