This was stated by foreign Minister of Montenegro Srdjan Darmanovic.
Montenegro was assured of ratification by the U.S. Senate the entry of Montenegro in NATO and expects to become a member of the Alliance at the end of may 2017.
Foreign Minister of Montenegro noted that 24 of the 28 members of NATO ratified the accession of Montenegro to the Alliance, but the United States, Spain, Canada and the Netherlands have not done so for procedural reasons.
“It is expected that this will occur during the next summit in late may. It is reasonable to expect that all procedures will be completed to this point”, – stressed the Minister.
In Montenegro understand that trump wants to achieve a breakthrough in relations with Russia, and especially in the fight against terrorism, said Darmanovic. According to him, there is no indication that accession of Montenegro to NATO, the United States will sacrifice the most important national interests.
