One of the best boxers of the last decade Shane Mosley announced his retirement from professional Boxing.
His last fight 45-year-old American spent last year in may, losing a unanimous decision to Russian David Avanesyan.
“I’m getting old and already far from what was before and what used to be. It’s time to get used to the idea that in the future I will be more difficult to remain competitive.
However, it’s not quite farewell to Boxing, because I still will always visit Boxing halls, to support, to give advice to the young boxers. The love for Boxing has not disappeared. Boxing remains alive, just I won’t be appearing in the ring”, – quotes Mosley “ESPN”.
His main victory in Pro-Boxing Mosley celebrated in the summer of 2000, breaking split decision to the legendary Oscar de La Hoya. Later Shane brought his record to 38-0 and was the best boxer of the world regardless of weight category.
Mosley met with almost every significant fighter of his era. The record of the American fighting Ricardo Mayorga, Antonio Margarito, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Saulem Alvarez and others.
From Boxing Shane Mosley has left in the status of the former world champion in three weight categories – light (1997-1998), Welterweight (2000-2002, 2007) and first intermediate (2003-2004).
