The Russian foreign Minister doubts in a constructive dialogue between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the situation with the arrest of Russian departmenet in the United States “daylight robbery”.
He was commenting on media reports that Washington does not intend to return the Russian diplomatic property without getting “something in return”.
“The source is anonymous? So, understand that they have a guilty conscience. With regard to fact, if so, (it is – Ed.) robbery in broad daylight. The highwaymen have there, it turns out, commented on the situation. How is it possible: to select the property that is assigned to the bilateral intergovernmental ratified the document, and to get her back – acting on the principle “What’s mine is mine, what’s yours is shared”, – Lavrov told reporters.
At the same time, the Russian foreign Minister expressed his belief that the administration of Donald trump’s “sensible people” who “understand that the decision to arrest diplomatic property – as the expulsion of 35 diplomats and their families – was adopted by the administration of (Barack) Obama in state of agony”.
“Unfortunately, this zealous attitude of trying to find some “hidden” channels of Russia’s influence on what is happening, the US clearly does not subside, to my great regret, and adds confidence that we will be able in international relations to establish normal cooperation, in the interests of all countries without exception,” – said Lavrov.
We will remind, the former President Barack Obama in December 2016, signed a decree on new sanctions against Russia. Restrictions affected six people and five organizations, including the FSB and the GRU.
Moreover, the United States decided to send 35 Russian diplomats suspected of spying, and to block access to two objects used by the Russian workers in new York and Maryland.
