The representative of the Paris Prosecutor’s office has described the attacker to police as a terrorist.
The man who sovershivshii the attack on the police in Paris, lived in the Eastern suburbs of the French capital.
The Prosecutor of Paris Francois Molins said that the police managed to establish the identity of the offender, but to call his name refused. He described the assailant with a gun on the police as a terrorist.
“Tonight at 20.50 an armed man shot at police, killing one of them and wounding two others, as well as a passer… the Terrorist was liquidated in retaliatory fire,” − said Molins.
According to media reports, a criminal may be 39-year-old Karim S., documents in the name of which was discovered in the car of the attacker. However, there is evidence that the assailant may be a man named Abu Yousef al-Beliki.
Earlier it was reported that in Paris there was a shootout in which a policeman was killed.
Later the terrorist group “Islamic state” has claimed responsibility for the incident.
