The reason for the adoption of such measures has not yet officially announced.
Iran took the decision to close land border with Iraqi Kurdistan, Reuters reports, citing Iranian media. According to Reuters, at the moment it is unknown why Iran closes border with Kurdistan.
Now in the autonomy are Iranian officers who plan to hold talks on the theme of escalation of a regional conflict between the Kurds and Baghdad.
It is assumed that Iran decided to close the border in response to the referendum on Kurdistan’s independence, which took place on 25 September and ended with a confident victory of the supporters of secession from Iraq.
