RTK Software labs, a subsidiary of Rostelecom, has opened in Innopolis own office and began work on a new project — a common platform for biometric identification of citizens of Russia. The system is called “national biometric platform”, and it is unclear what is the true purpose of its creation.
Officially it is stated that the NBP is designed for performing legally significant transactions and the provision of public services with the use of biometric technologies, however, such a description is too vague and without traditional Russian 0,5 unclear. However, already after 0.5 an opinion, this is another tool for total surveillance of citizens, because we are talking about the formation of a unified system of identification that will contain the data about fingerprints, retinas, faces, and voices.
In other words, a server can immediately tell you the people in uniform, after analyzing fingerprints or other personal information. Of course, no one tells how it will be implemented to protect all this data, and why the state needed the information, but referred to the imminent release of supposedly useful applications that you can use biometric authentication methods. Most likely, later will adopted the law on compulsory scanning retinas and fingers, which has become a tradition for our country.
