The demonstrators are holding posters with slogans “Resignation!”
The twelfth day of anti-government protests in Romania, the demonstrators said marathon running around the government building in Bucharest.
“Today we organize an unusual protest against the government. At the nearby government building the boulevards we will run a marathon of 42 kilometers. We hope to run a marathon protest will join the rest of the demonstrators” – said the organizers of the protests from the group “Corruption kills”.
Romanian journalists have calculated that the protesters have to run twenty laps around the building of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The demonstrators are holding posters with slogans “Resignation!”, “The dream of the nation gives birth to monsters!”, “Thieves should sit in jail”.
As reported, anti-government protests began in Romania after approval by the government of two emergency resolutions on the Amnesty and on amendments to the criminal law. The resolution was subsequently cancelled, however, the demonstrators continued to protest, demanding the resignation of the government.
Two days earlier, the author of the regulations, the Minister of justice Florin Iordache resigned. In his place was appointed Anna Birchall, which stated that it will insist on amendments to criminal law.
