Unusual geometric shapes and dark facade make home like a fortress.
Architectural Studio Odile Decq undertook the construction of a private house Saint-Ange Residency area of 185 square meters, located on the hillside overlooking Grenoble.
The house has a very unusual form. Working on the project, the architects took into account the fact that the trees in front, close to the owners the whole panorama of the valley. Therefore, it was decided to build a three-storey dwelling tower, so that the owner can enjoy the coveted views. The basement and the basement is made of concrete. All the rest is built of wood.
The black color gives the house a kind of monumentality. In the daytime the sun fills the room with bright light and night dark shutters made of the same material as the façade, to visually transform the building into a monolithic fortress.
