“22 Feb side of the Congo informed the Embassy of Georgia in Pretoria that in the incident, the opposition group has captured a citizen of Georgia, another citizen was wounded, although he’s out of danger and undergoing treatment in the city of Goma in Eastern Congo,” reads the MFA statement.
It is also reported that the official reason for the stay of Georgian citizens in the Congo is unknown.
In turn, the Georgian Ministry of defense said that they do not know the details of the case, as did not send the military in Congo.
