Gazprom plans to raise gas prices for Russians

The letter was signed by the Deputy head of “Gazprom” Valery Golubev, and it is addressed to the Deputy Minister of energy Kirill Molodtsova. It contains proposals to change the economic conditions for state-owned companies with the aim of increasing its revenue. Among the proposed measures is the alignment of tariffs of gas between regions, as well as for business and population.

Prices for natural gas for enterprises were frozen, but yet they are higher than the population for which rates every year to adjust with inflation. If the government will support the initiative of “Gazprom” gas for individuals will rise. To minimize the negative consequences, the company considers it possible to introduce targeted assistance to low-income Russians.

In 2016 for all categories of gas consumers rose by two percent. In the Federal budget for 2017 provided by the increase in gas tariffs by 3.9 percent. By 2018 it is planned to increase by 3.4 percent, and in 2019 — by 3.1 percent.

The tariffs of natural monopolies was frozen three years ago. The government took this decision to reduce inflation and support economic growth.

In September 2013, when this issue was discussed, “Gazprom” has estimated its losses from the “freezing” of 510 billion rubles for three years.
