And call on U.S. President to resign
In the U.S. the 17 members of the Advisory President’s Committee on the arts and Humanities, resigned in protest against the policies of Donald trump.
About it they wrote in a collective statement addressed to the President.
The members of the Committee accused trump in support of “violent groups and terrorists who killed and wounded American citizens in Charlottesville”.
They also referred to the decision of trump about the release of the Paris climate agreement, accused of attacks on freedom of speech, condemned the reduction in the budget of the Department of culture and the prohibition of Muslims and refugees to enter the United States.
“Superiority and discrimination are not American values. Your values — not American values. We have to be better than this. We are better than this. If you do not understand, then we urge you to resign,” said the members of the Committee.
Note that the President’s wife Melania trump is the honorary Chairman of the Committee.
