A friendly match between the national teams of Ukraine and Malta are not recognized as official.
On Tuesday the national team of Ukraine in Graz (Austria) in a friendly match sensationally lost to Malta. The only goal in the 14th minute after a flank pass and scored Muscat. “Blue-yellow” held a lackluster match, creating a few dangerous moments.
Now it turned out that the disgrace of the national team of Ukraine will not be reflected in official records. During the break head coach of the nominal owners Andriy Shevchenko made 10 substitutions, nine more adjustments to the composition during the games he played the coach of the Maltese.
“The match Ukraine – Malta cannot be considered as official match of the national teams, given the fact that there had been 10 replacements.
For official matches, in accordance with the rules of the game, you can’t use more than 6 replacements, as outlined in rule 3 of the rules of the game”, – reads the statement of the press service of FIFA.
Thus, the defeat of the Ukrainian team in the match against Malta will not affect the FIFA rankings. Formally, since the appointment of Andriy Shevchenko for the post of coach of “blue-yellow” main team of the country has not played a single test match.
On Sunday, June 11 the Ukraine national team in Tampere will play against Finland in the qualifying round for the 2018 world Cup in Russia.
