A three-year project aims to Ukrainian aircraft meet the standards of the EU.
The European Agency for aviation safety (EASA) has launched a new cooperation project with Ukraine.
About it the correspondent of UKRINFORM reported in the headquarters of EASA.
“The official launch of a new project of cooperation between EASA and state aviation service of Ukraine in the field of airworthiness opens a new Chapter of aviation relations between the EU and Ukraine”, – stated in the message.
A three-year EASA-led project aimed to support the implementation in Ukraine of the airworthiness standards of the EU and, thus, to prepare the country’s participation in the activities of EASA. With this purpose we have prepared intensive plan of action.
The launch was preceded by the signing, on 16 January 2017 the Agreement between the European Commission and the State aviation administration of Ukraine on the convergence of certification systems.
Director of the EASA strategy and safety management Luke Tytgat noted that the Agency supports the efforts of the Ministry of transport to approach the requirements and standards of the EU in the field of airworthiness.
In turn, the head of the state aviation administration Alexander Belchuk said that to finalize the document is planned in the third quarter of this year.
