Bank “Peresvet” was ranked among 50 largest Russian banks in terms of capital.
The Central Bank has cut the Bank “Peresvet”, the main shareholder is the Russian Orthodox Church, from system of Bank electronic urgent payments (BESP).
Disconnect from BESP, as a rule, precedes the opinion of a credit institution’s license for banking activity.
The Central Bank in October 2016 has been stopped “Peresvet” from BESP, then the Bank introduced a temporary administration and a moratorium on payments to creditors. Later, the Bank of the ROC was re-connected to the electronic payment system.
On February 20, announced the Bank of Russia the function of an interim administration in the Bank “Peresvet” for a period of six months assigned to Agency on insurance of contributions (ASV). The powers of the previous interim administration was terminated.
Bank “Peresvet” at 49.7 percent owned by the Russian Orthodox Church, another 24.4 percent in control of the chamber of Commerce.
