The Mossack Fonseca office in the capital of Panama were searched.
In Panama, arrested the founders of the company — Registrar of offshore companies Mossack Fonseca Ramon Fonseca Mora and jürgen Mossak.
Detention Mossaka and Fonseca, says the Efe news Agency, was held a few hours after the Panamanian government publicly accused them of involvement in the corruption case at Petrobras.
Several million documents Mossack Fonseca, the so-called “Panamanian archive”, became the basis for the investigation by the International consortium of investigative journalists (ICIJ), with the participation of the Centre for the study of corruption and organized crime (OCCRP), as well as other partners.
During the investigation it was established that the firm which is engaged in registration of offshore companies, linked to dozens of companies, businessmen and politicians from different countries, including Russia. In the archives were found documents about offshore cellist Sergei Roldugin, a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The defendants in the “case of Petrobras” are the largest Brazilian politicians, businessmen and senior government officials. Because of this corruption investigation was announced the impeachment of the President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff.
