A local security guard decided to check their weapons at the airport.
The flight operated by Eurowings from Berlin Tegel airport to Cologne was delayed by half an hour due to the fact that the guard high-ranking officials, which was supposed to fly on this flight, when boarding the plane accidentally fired his service weapon.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
The culprit of the incident that occurred this morning, August 21, at terminal A at Tegel airport, was an employee of the Berlin office of criminal investigation, who accompanied on the flight of a diplomat from the Embassy of Iraq in Berlin.
Shot, the cause of which is unknown, occurred in the corridor connecting the plane to the airport building. The bullet went right through the wall of the corridor without hitting anyone.
It is reported that the security officer was a rookie at the position.
Police are investigating the causes of the incident.
