To prevent explosions it was not possible
Near the city of Houston, Texas at the chemical plant of the company Arkema, two explosions and a fire started.
Within a radius of 1.5 miles around the plant, local authorities completed the evacuation.
Due to tropical storm “Harvey” and associated flooding, the plant was de-energized. As a result, the containers of chemicals were left without cooling. With increasing temperature they become unstable, which could lead to explosions.
According to preliminary data, one of the employees of the plant were taken to hospital with symptoms of poisoning with toxic vapors.
In Arkema explained that to prevent explosions was not possible.
As previously reported, in Japan as a result of the explosions in the Park in the Japanese city of Utsunomiya, one person died, three were injured.
