The purpose of the trip to North America is to mobilize international support in favor of Ukraine.
The focus of both visits will be three key issues: countering the aggression of Russia, energy security and support economic recovery of Ukraine.
In Washington, Yatsenyuk intends to hold meetings with representatives of the new US administration.
Also planned a meeting with senior officials in the national security Council. In addition, he will meet with the leadership of the state Department and the U.S. Department of defense.
The leader of the “popular Front” also intends to meet with senators Ted Cruz, John McCain, Richard Gurbina and other representatives of both political parties – the Republican and Democratic parties.
Individual events will be the meeting of Yatsenyuk with ex-US President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joseph Biden.
In Washington planned speech Yatsenyuk to the experts on international relations and security in the leading research institutes – the American Enterprise Institute, Heritage Foundation, and the Council on foreign policy.
The visit to Ottawa includes meeting with foreign Minister Christ Freeland and other high representatives of the government and Parliament of Canada.
In the capital of Canada Yatsenyuk will take part in the events dedicated to solidarity with Ukraine and the Crimean Tatars.
The programme will also be meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community, international experts and media.
