Frenchman Zinedine Zidane – one of the two coaches, twice won the Champions League in their debut seasons in a new role.
Zidane led real Madrid in November 2015 – six months “Creamy” in 11-th time has won the Champions League, on penalties in the final after beating neighbours Atletico Madrid. This success has allowed the Frenchman to become the seventh coach, who took the Champions League/European Cup in their opening season in the coaching career.
Last Saturday, Zidane for the second time became the winner of the Champions League in the status of head coach, this time real Madrid in the final match in Cardiff with 4:1 defeated “Juventus”.
Two wins in the Champions League two debut season in the coaching career – so before Zidane was done by only one person. The former coach of real Madrid Jose Villalonga in the 1954-55 season led real Madrid to victory in the tournament, and a year later he repeated this achievement.
In addition to Zidane and Villalonga in his debut season in the coaching career of the main club tournament in the world took Miguel muñoz (real Madrid), Tony Barton (Aston Villa), Joe Fagan (Liverpool), Guus Hiddink (PSV), Vicente del Bosque (real Madrid) and Josep Guardiola (“Barcelona”).
