A film about the anti-hero Spawn based on the comic book publisher Image Comics was published in 1997. He was received by critics with no special warmth, and with a loud hit of hire to become this action was not meant to be – but the tape turned out still very good, Groovy and catchy (what are the inimitable clown Defiler performed by John Leguizamo and soundtrack by Marilyn Manson and Korn!). But the sequel of the history in this case and remains flickering shadow plans in an interview with the creators of the film for twenty years. What’s wrong with the Spawn and who is behind the reluctance of studios to let in the development of a new film about the dark avenger?
And all because, as it turned out, the character Creator is an artist and writer of the original comic book Todd McFarlane. More precisely, his conditions, which the studios seem to be exorbitant for quite understandable reasons: McFarlane wants to have full control over the process of making the film. And the script personally write, direct, and produce. It is clear that no one will tell the story more exciting, more and more accurate than its author. Here only to provide such creative freedom you need to have a remarkable stock trust Hollywood bosses that Spawn dad still has. Any suggestions to make concessions, he angrily rejects, in turn, is not going to rely on “newcomers”, which can be put at the head of the shooting process.
It is unlikely that this ambition will contribute to the speedy return of the messenger of Hell, but fingers crossed – if McFarlane’s everything goes smoothly, then we certainly will be a Grand spectacle.
