Next year will bring for Ukrainian students next innovations in the rules for the passage of External independent testing.
The Ministry of science and education introduced a normative document, which shows that in 2018, students will be able to select which subjects they take. The list of items UPE will remain the same, however, this list has excluded Russian language, writes Politeka.
Thus, for graduates of 2016 and 2017 that have a certificate in Russian language, that’s a problem. Now they will have to pass a test in another subject.
Despite the fact that around the language issue in the new law “On education” was a scandal, however, next year students will be able to set the language of national minorities. This was confirmed in the Lviv regional center for educational quality assessment. It is known that the test items for all subjects (except for Ukrainian and foreign languages) will be translated into 6 languages of national minorities: Russian, Romanian, Polish, Hungarian, Moldovan and Crimean Tatar.
All also invariably required will remain the certificate of Ukrainian language and literature.
At the same time, a separate order next year will have a minimum number of 150 points for applicants who apply for the specialty “Dentistry”, “Medicine”, “Pediatrics”, “Health care”. We will remind that last year the Ministry of education has tried to set a higher threshold score, however this idea was abandoned, since at that time registration for the EIT has been completed.
In the Ministry of education noted that a high threshold score for medical specialties have to cut off applicants with low scores.
Also, like last year, graduates will be able to set a maximum of 4 items. Three of these items will be credited in the final examination.
Entrants can submit up to 7 applications for admission, instead of 9. And the number of specialties remains the same – no more than 4.
Of special note are the changes that have affected the certification of works in foreign languages. The latter will include a new part – listening. So, graduates next year during the exam should listen to sound bites. After that they have to perform tasks for him.
Thus the time for executing the test in a foreign language will increase to 150 minutes.
Also for graduates will change the test task in a foreign language. Now they will have 2 difficulty levels: B1 (midterm) and B2 (advanced). Intermediate level is designed for secondary schools, but the advanced will produce students of specialized classes with profound studying of languages, or those who count the result in a foreign language, as GIA.
Changes will feel and the students of schools and colleges, which previously could go to the relevant University after the exam or interview. So, in 2018 they will also need to be EIT in the Ukrainian language and literature, or using other testing certificates in an entrance exam.
It is worth noting that this year will be the first adapted the tests in the Ukrainian language and literature, Ukrainian history and mathematics for people with vision problems.

And finally, we note that in 2018, students will be able to provide for the receipt of certificates of 2016, 2017 and 2018.
