Washington has not yet confirmed the involvement of the terrorist “ISIS” attack in Manchester.
Director of National intelligence Dan Coates stated that the US government is not yet able to prove the involvement of the terrorist group “ISIS” attack in Manchester.
As noted D. Coates, the IG has claimed responsibility for the attack, but U.S. authorities have not yet have evidence that could confirm this.
“The terrorist threat is serious, and she’s not going anywhere. We should pay attention to it”, – said D. Coates, speaking before the U.S. Senate Committee on armed services.
The explosion occurred at night on Tuesday at the stadium “Manchester arena”, where took place the concert of American singer Ariana Grande. According to recent reports, killed 22 people, including children, and dozens were injured. Police are treating the incident as a terrorist attack.
Responsibility for the attack was claimed by the group “ISIS”.
