Without a legal consolidation of Russia’s status as the aggressor in Ukraine, grounds for the imposition of criminal liability for Ukrainian government officials and politicians visit to the Russian Federation no.
This was announced by the head of the office of special investigations of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Serhiy Gorbatyuk.
“It is impossible to introduce responsibility, while there is no legal definition of the aggressor and the vesting status of the Russian Federation or another country, if we want to impose a liability there,” – said Gorbatyuk.
However, according to him, today nothing prohibits heads of agencies to issue internal orders for information on trips and the possibility of trips are public officials and law enforcement officers in Russia.
