Alexander Peleshenko the second consecutive year, dominated the championship in the category up to 85 kg.
Last year in Norway, Peleshenko for gold continental forum fought with Christian yovu, but the Romanians got on the use of illegal drugs, but because the main rival was the champion of the world 2015 Artem Okulov.
In the first discipline, Peleshenko showed their seriousness – Alexander in a last attempt to fixed overhead barbell weighing 175 kg, which brought the Ukrainian not only small gold in the snatch, but also allowed him to become the new holder of the European record.
From Okulov, Peleshenko lost 10 kg. it was more than enough to maintain its status of the European championship. And yet without a touch of drama in this fight is not done. In the last attempt, Peleshenko took 211 kg (total weight – 376 kg) – if Alexander lost the weight, then gold would have gone Okulov, who took 212 kg and won the snatch.
Last year at the European championship Alexander Peleshenko took the gold with a total result of 372 kg, and at the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, the Ukrainians were subjected to 385 kg.
