Lytvyn said that the solution to the conflict in the Donbass will bring Ukraine even more problems.
People’s Deputy of Ukraine, former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn has said he does not consider a successful “Norman format”.
He told about it on air of TV channel NewsOne.
According to the politician, this format is more like a simple meeting of the presidents when they gathered to talk and give each other orders, and in which nothing changes.
“I think I will say the obvious that Ukraine will not help any “formats” until the country will have consolidated positions. There is such a thing: if there is no consensus of elites, it says the fragile democracy, fragile state”, – said Litvin.
He stressed that Kiev should take the offensive and to take the initiative in their own hands.
“You can throw mud at Russia, with her all is clear, tell the whole world that Russia – the aggressor, but it does not solve absolutely no problem. Also note that as soon as Ukrainian officials begin to talk about the fact that Ukraine joins NATO, intensified once the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. And this despite the fact that we in NATO nobody takes”, – said the politician.
However, he Litvin expressed opinion that the war in the Donbass must be stopped and to try to resolve the conflict in other ways.
“But unless they made some acceptable steps, the military will not lay down their arms, at least go to the guerrilla actions. We need permanent war, of death, which will report to the weather forecast? Or do we need to stop these deaths? While I understand, and certainly the Ukrainian government, too, that once solved the problem of the conflict in the Donbass, the problems in Ukraine will begin. I mean in terms of economic burden on the weak, scanty Ukrainian budget”, – said Litvin.
