The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law On the constitutional court of Ukraine (№6427-d). According to UNIAN, for this decision voted 245 of 364 MPs registered in the session hall.
The law provides that the constitutional court consists of 18 judges. The President, the Verkhovna Rada and the Congress of judges of Ukraine each appoint six judges of the CCU.
The court must act in a Big house, two Senate and six boards. The Grand chamber shall consist of all judges of the constitutional court. The law also defined the questions that would be within its competence.
The base salary of judges of the constitutional court shall be in the amount of salary of a judge of the Supreme court. As noted during the discussion MP from Batkivshchyna Yuriy Odarchenko, the salary of constitutional court judges will be 120 thousand hryvnia per month.
The constitutional court judges who hold the posts of Secretary of Board, paid a monthly surcharge of 5% of the basic salary of a judge; the Deputy President of the court – 10% of the basic salary of a judge; the President of the court of 15% of the basic salary of a judge.
The law On the constitutional court of Ukraine will come into force on the day following its publication.
