Parliament approved a law on fines for Parking in handicapped spaces.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted in first reading the draft law “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine concerning strengthening of responsibility for Parking, stopping, Parking of vehicles on areas designated for persons with disabilities”.
For the adoption of the bill No. 5629 was voted 266 deputies.
The draft law envisages a fine in the amount of 60 untaxed minimum (1020 UAH) for stopping or Parking vehicles at places where it is permitted to stop or Park only to drivers with disabilities and drivers who transport people with disabilities, the creation of obstacles in the Parking lot, drivers with disabilities, as well as violation of rules of installation and use on the vehicle marking plate “a Driver with a disability.”
It is also permitted to deliver to the impound lot, cars parked in handicapped spaces.
It is also proposed to authorize the drawing up protocols on violation of members of public organizations of persons with disabilities, authorized by the Executive committees of village, settlement, city councils.
In addition, it is proposed to oblige the owners of buildings to build a special area for Parking of vehicles for drivers with disabilities. Failure to observe this provision is proposed to set the penalty in the amount of 60 untaxed minimum (1020 UAH).
