The politician considered that the process in Catalonia violates the rights of Spaniards.
Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy was asked to support the application of article 155 of the Spanish Constitution, which provides for the introduction of direct administration in Catalonia. He said this on his Twitter page.
“I went to a meeting of the Senate in order to ask you to support the application of article 155 of the Spanish Constitution. This requires an exceptional situation,” said Mariano Rajoy.
In addition, he added that the separatist process (autonomy of Catalunya) is contrary to the law and the rights of the Spaniards, and he also violates the coexistence in Catalan society.
“The Constitution, we will refund the legitimacy and continue the recovery. Because of this, elections in Catalonia will take place as soon as possible,” said Mariano Rajoy
