Throughout Ukraine decided to strengthen counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence measures.
This was stated by Secretary of national security Council and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov after the meeting with heads of law enforcement agencies.
“Given the high level of terrorist threat, approved a number of measures to strengthen counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence regime in Kiev and other regions of Ukraine”, – the press service of the national security Council following the meeting.
The reaction of law enforcement agencies followed the murder of the employee of the Main intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of defence of Ukraine, Colonel Maxim Shapoval. The result under. the leadership of the military Prosecutor’s office qualified the event of 27 June in Kiev as a terrorist attack. At the same time Turchynov noted the similarity of the attack with the murder of the Colonel of the SBU Alexander Kharaberyush three months ago.
“I appeal to citizens with the request to be vigilant and to be sensitive to the adopted in the framework of the Ukrainian legislation with the safety measures”, – he explained.
The head of the Council pointed out that in recent months, there is a systematic escalation of subversive activities, which “implements of the Russian Federation against Ukraine in the framework of hybrid aggression”.
