The Department of special investigations of the GPU is preparing documents for the other two criminal proceedings.
The Department of special investigation General Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine intends to send the petition to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation on the interrogation of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on Russian territory as a suspect in two criminal proceedings – opposition protest actions and the creation of a criminal gang.
About it on air of TV channel “112 Ukraine” said the head of the Department of special investigations of the GPU Sergey Gorbatyuk.
“These documents (letter from the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation about the readiness to consider the possibility of questioning Yanukovych on the territory of the Russian Federation in the presence of Ukrainian law enforcement officers – ed.) were obtained in the investigation of criminal proceedings on suspicion of Viktor Yanukovych of treason. This episode investigates the investigating prosecutors of the Chief military Prosecutor’s office. Of course, our Department also opened a number of criminal proceedings. This production, in particular, the opposition protest actions, the Russian Federation, directly to the General Prosecutor’s office refused extradition in the extradition of the former President, referring to the alleged signs of political persecution. Therefore, we are preparing a petition questioning him as a suspect for these materials were brought to the investigations that we have,” said he.

According to the Gorbatyuk, the questioning will take place in the territory of the Russian Federation, and who it will be – must be resolved by the Russian side. “We just say that such investigations should be to provide the suspect the interrogation of the circumstances in which he is accused. At the same time, the Prosecutor of the Chief military Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko said that the Ukrainian law enforcement authorities will not participate in the interrogation of the ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on the territory of the Russian Federation, and also that the GP of the Russian Federation has provided his a fake address.
