Chinese scientists have created artificial rays for the exploration under water.
Robots-rays do not have engines or turbines, instead they swim with the help of flexible structures. The Creator of this robot is Tefan Lee (Tiefeng Li) from Zhejiang University.
According to Lee, these designs are more economical and environmentally friendly. Soft robots will be able to study the remnants of the ship under water, coral reefs, with their help it is possible to map the seabed. Also such robots are used for reconnaissance under water.
The appearance of such a robot resembles a small Stingray weighing 90 g, length 18.5 cm and wing span 20 cm Insulated in silicone lithium battery provides the energy for three hours of continuous swimming.
