According to Piontkovsky, Putin will soon announce his new plan for peace in Eastern Ukraine.
In the next few days the head of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin will make a new proposal for the normalization of the situation in the East of Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by Russian political scientist Andrei Piontkovsky.
According to him, the Russian President will resort to such actions, to avoid arrest personal assets of the representatives of the Russian elite, as stipulated by U.S. law on the extension of sanctions against official Moscow.
“There is this sequence of events. The first step – Putin made the first loving the idea of peacekeepers, but nothing ever came of it. Then he makes a second – this isn’t gonna work. And its surrounding boys realize that in order to save a trillion, you have to leave the Donbass,” – says Piontkovsky.
The expert added that despite this, Putin will not agree to full withdrawal of Russian troops from the zone of anti-terrorist operation and return the occupied territories to Ukraine.
“But Putin is impossible, for Putin’s political death. He will try to jump out of the loop a lower price. And the price he is willing to pay, we’ll know in a few days at his speech in Sochi”,
– said publicist.
We will add, earlier Andrei Piontkovsky said that during the 180-day Russian elite is an ultimatum to rapidly change its position. This means that all their assets would be publicized and they will apply the law on the laundering of funds obtained by criminal means.
