The first racket of Ukraine Oleksandr Dolgopolov due to injury refused to continue struggle at the Masters in Indian wells.
For an exit in the third round of the tournament on hard courts of the ATP 1000 Dolgopolov competed with German Philipp Kohlschreiber, who was one step away from his 400th victory in his career.
In the first set, Dolgopolov made it perfectly clear to the opponent that in Indian wells he did not see the anniversary of the victory. The Ukrainian, despite a few missed set-Bolov and loss of flow on the tie-break confidently beat Kohlschreiber and took the lead.
At the start of the second batch Dolgopolov made a break and opened a path to victory. Unfortunately, my foot was forced Alexander with the score 1:1 to withdraw from the match.
“Today again there was a problem with his groin, as in Rio, but it’s the other leg. The injury bothered the last five days, but still managed to cope. The doctors say that we need to stay 5-7 days and it will pass,” said Dolgopolov after the match.
