Zharov also expressed the view that “the rest of the international communication services should do the same”.
In his statement, Zharov noted that Russia’s laws “are binding on all companies operating in the Russian jurisdiction.”
We will remind, on June 28 Telegram founder Pavel Durov said that the company is ready to register in Russia, if Roskomnadzor ready to “limit” the requirement to provide information about the company-publisher of the messenger, which is published in the public domain, and will not be required to provide the correspondence of users to special services.
Previously Durov has repeatedly said he does not intend to cooperate with the secret services and governmental authorities of any country.
According to the Russian legislation, for inclusion in the register of the organizers of foreign information to a foreign legal entity must provide full and abbreviated (if available) name, to indicate the country of registration, tax ID or identifier in the trade register of the country of registration and location address.
The organizers of the dissemination of the information included in the corresponding registry must be stored on the territory of Russia within six months information about the facts of reception, transmission and processing of calls, messages, images, and other user communications, and to provide this data and also the encryption keys of the correspondence of Russian law enforcement agencies, including the FSB.
