European champion in gymnastics and a bronze medalist of the world championship Maria Kharenkova decided to leave the Russian national team.
The athlete has notified the International Federation of gymnastics (FIG) that will now play for the national team of Georgia.
On the Executive Committee of the Federation in Nicaragua on August 21-22, Cherenkova gave permission for the change of sport nationality, without specifying the reasons for its decision.
It is noted that she has not filed an application for participation in the world championship which will be held in October in Stuttgart, Germany.
