The abolition of the controversial law comes into force the day after publication.
The controversial law of the people’s Deputy of Hope Savchenko cancelled by decision of the President Poroshenko. He signed the law “On amendments to the criminal code of Ukraine on the rules of summation of punishments and transfer of the pretrial detention”.

The law amends part 5 of article 72 “the principle of addition of punishments and classification of the term of pre-trial detention” of the Criminal code of Ukraine, according to which a preliminary conclusion, the court counted the sentence in case of conviction to imprisonment day after day or according to the rules provided in part 1 of this article. Rada adopted the law on 18 may, virtually, abolished the controversial “law Savchenko”.
The adoption of this law aimed at improving the state of security and protection of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, property, public order and public security from criminal attacks.
The law shall enter into force on the day following the day of its publication.
