The ex-mayor of Kiev, commented on the recent events.
The ex-mayor of Kiev Leonid Chernovetsky has responded to reports that Ukraine declared him wanted.
In his Facebook he said that he’s not hiding from law enforcement and the Prosecutor’s office has its actual address.
“I, as a lawyer, did not understand why I was declared wanted in Ukraine, where I live! In Ukraine, I was there for almost 6 years and, before you declare me in Ukraine during the investigation, the SBU had to ask the prosecutors and my lawyers where I am. Why would I search where there is no me”, – he wrote.
The blame he assigns to the attorney General Lutsenko, who, according to Chernovetsky, “forgot” to tell SBU that he had received official documents about his actual whereabouts.
“Instead of fulfilling the law’s requirements, prosecutors is specifically drawn with the consequence that it is not clear why stopped, not to give me the opportunity to defend itself against frivolous and unfounded charges! Nothing, I’ll wait a bit, sooner or later all those responsible for my unlawful prosecution, will incur legal and strict punishment. I want never to see their homeland free from criminals in uniform, and will not deny myself the pleasure to do it!” summed up Chernovetsky.
