This is a celebration for the entire European continent, said the President of the European Commission.
The entry into force in full of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU – a holiday for the whole European continent. This was stated by the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, said in a press release released by the Foreign diplomatic service of the EU.
“Determination is a virtue. Today, despite all the challenges, we did it. The entry into force of the Association Agreement with Ukraine the European Union fulfills its promise to our Ukrainian friends. I am grateful to all those who made this possible: those who stood on the Maidan, and those who are trying to reform the country for the better. This is a celebration for our European continent,” – said Juncker.
He also stressed that the Association Agreement, including deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA), is the primary tool for rapprochement of Ukraine and the EU.
“It contributes to the deepening of political ties and strengthen economic relations and respect for shared European values,” – said in a press release of the EU.
We will note, recently the Juncker did not agree that Ukraine close to EU membership and NATO.
