Back in March we learned that Robert Rodriguez will return to the screens Plissken Snake in the remake/restart/prequel to the cult sci-Fi Thriller “Escape from new York” (Escape from New York). For the scenario of a potential hit meets Neil Cross, best known for his work on the series “Luther”.
Even earlier, already in December of 2016, rumor has it that the Cross is, in fact, written the first version of the script. There is a lot of interesting details emerged, including some potential spoilers…
And now the writer confirmed that his script is already read from the original Director (and Executive producer of the remake) John carpenter. And not just read, but approved.
Robert Rodriguez is enshrined as a Director, and the project looks good and intriguing. The script was quite difficult to write, because it is difficult to invent something again. One of the most terrifying phrases I’ve ever heard in my life – “we have read your script John carpenter”. I triples of the day tinkering around and thinking “Oh my God”, but in the end, we received the approval of John carpenter. He approved the script and that’s all I needed.
…You never know exactly when you need to put the last point, but I may have something to rewrite, make a few twists and turns, however, to a first approximation my work is already done.
Well, it’s good that the man who directed the original film, approves of what you’re going to do with his work in the remake. On the other hand, carpenter has recently admitted that it’s important for him is money. This means that old John might be ready to endorse anything if they pay.
